Much of John’s activity involves making small boxes of driftwood and other solid wood fragments. In some cases he mounts polished beach stones shells in the tops of the boxes. The driftwood boxes are made from planks that have been submerged in the sea and therefore contain “worm” holes and highly abraded surfaces.
